School Closures

 

School closure due to emergency before school hours:

 

Please listen for the message on all radio stations concerning the Western Quebec Schools and/or Buckingham Elementary School.

 

During school hours:

 

If school closes during school hours children could be sent home WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.  Announcements will be made on radio stations.  The school will contact parents at home, however, we
are usually unable to reach every one.  Therefore we are suggesting that you prepare NOW by ensuring that your child knows what to do when he/she arrives home.  Making arrangements with a neighbor, relative or friend will ensure your child’s safety and comfort.

If school is cancelled or closes early or buses are cancelled, an announcement will be made by local radio stations listed below.  The message will read:

 

• ALL GREATER GATINEAU ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED BECAUSE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER.

 

It is important that you tell your child what he/she is to do if he/she arrives home early and you are not at home.
